Take I-75 to State Route 27 (Exit
112). Go west along SR 27 and continue through Vienna. After crossing a
railroad track near the Vienna Police Department, pay close attention to signs
indicating that SR 27 splits with SR 90. Turn left onto SR 27 West and
continue to Americus.
As you
approach Americus, you will see the Americus Times Recorder building on the
right. Go into the right lane and turn right onto U.S. Hwy. 280 West. Continue
along US Hwy 280 West and go through seven (7) intersections. As you approach
the eight intersection, stay in the left lane. US Hwy. 19/Martin Luther King,
Jr. Blvd. Days Inn Motel is directly ahead of you. Turn left onto US Hwy
19.
Continue along US Hwy 19
for 2 miles, go into the right lane and veer right (at the Citgo gas station)
onto US Hwy 280 West/SR 49 South. Continue for approximately 1/4 mile to a
green sign that reads "Sumter County Correctional Institute/Sheriff's
Office/Jail/Public Works" and turn right onto McMath Mill Road. Sumter YDC is
approximately 1/2 mile ahead on the right. |
