Provides temporary, secure care and supervision to youths
who are charged with crimes or who have been found guilty of crimes and are
awaiting disposition of their cases by a juvenile court. Additionally, youths
committed to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice are frequently
held in secure detention while awaiting placement in one of DJJ's treatment
programs or facilities.
Also provides education,
individual guidance and counseling, medical services, recreation, and arts and
crafts. Clothing, meals, and medical and emergency dental care are a part of
each center's basic care program.
Directions from Atlanta:
Take I-20 East to Exit 138 (Siloam/Rte. 15). Turn right
onto Route 77 and continue until it dead-ends into Route 15. Take a left onto
Rte. 15 South and continue through Sandersville. At the third traffic light
(by the Amoco service station) turn left onto Industrial Drive. The RYDC is in
the second block of Industrial Drive on your left, adjacent to GMC.
