Program
Description:
Provides temporary, secure care and
supervision to youths who are charged with crimes or who have been found
guilty of crimes and are awaiting disposition of their cases by a juvenile
court. Additionally, youths committed to the custody of the Department of
Juvenile Justice are frequently held in secure detention while awaiting
placement in one of DJJ's treatment programs or facilities.
Also provides education, individual guidance and
counseling, medical services, recreation, and arts and crafts. Clothing,
meals, and medical and emergency dental care are a part of each center's basic
care program.
Directions from Atlanta:
Travel
I-85 South to I-185 South to Columbus. Continue on I-185 South to Exit 10
(Macon-Phenix City). Exit 10 has two exits. The first exit is the Phenix City
exit- (do not take this exit). Go under the underpass and take the Macon exit
(U.S. 80/GA 22). This exit will allow you to circle back over I-185 and you
will be heading east, away from Alabama. Stay on U.S. 80 East until you come
to the Intersection of US 80 and FlatRock Road. Turn right onto FlatRock Road.
Stay on FlatRock Road until you come to the intersection at Macon Road (two
lights). Turn left on Macon Road. Stay on Macon Road until you intersect
Chattsworth Road on your right. Turn right on to Chattsworth Road and drive
approximately 3/4 mile. The driveway for the facility will be on your
right. We are collocated with the Muscogee YDC on the same site. We will be
the first facility you see when entering the entrance driveway.
